Reading and Writing

I enjoy reading, and a little bit of writing too.

I have set myself the task of reading at least 75 books this year. To help monitor this I have joined
GoodReads using the iPhone App. Keeping an eye on your progress through the books on the list 'read' and 'to read' is certainly helpful. It's nice to be able to read other people's reviews on books and authors too.

Books finished so far this year:

  • Railsea by China Mieville
  • Nuromancer by William Gibson
  • A Woman of No Importance by Oscar Wilde
  • Dodger by Terry Pratchett
  • Bad Science by Ben Goldacre

A couple of years ago I did a most enjoyable Open University course on Creative Writing and have since even performed some poetry (*gulp*) at the Liverpool "Dead Good Poets Society", which you can find on Facebook. Whether any of my poetry attempts ever see the light of day away from exams or the DGPS nights, let's say To Be Confirmed.

On here I will probably mainly put some comments on books I have read, but who knows some personal bits may appear at some point...
